The program includes travel from Brig with three days of excursions toward Zermatt and the Gornergrat or toward the Aletsch Glacier and Bettmeralp.
Day 1: Arrival in Brig and excursion to Bettmeralp
From Brig, a historic Alpine rail hub and the perfect base for the next three days, you will immediately depart by train and cable car toward Bettmeralp, a beautiful and sunny Alpine resort entirely free of cars.
Once you arrive on the high plateau, you will enjoy a free afternoon to explore this picturesque village, strolling among traditional wooden chalets and taking in your first glimpses of the Aletsch Glacier, the largest in Europe.
Conclude your day by returning to Brig, where we recommend savoring local culinary specialties, such as raclette or fondue.
Day 2: Excursion to Zermatt and the Gornergrat
After breakfast at the hotel, you will take the direct train toward Zermatt, the famous car-free village at the foot of the Matterhorn. From here, you will prepare for an unforgettable excursion to the Gornergrat, a panoramic peak offering breathtaking views of the Matterhorn and 29 other peaks that exceed an altitude of 4,000 meters.
You will board the Gornergrat Bahn, the historic open-air cog railway, enjoying the landscape that opens up as you reach the summit at 3,089 meters. Once at the top, you can capture the glacial scenery with souvenir photos and enjoy lunch in one of the mountain-top restaurants, immersed in the pristine beauty of alpine nature.
In the afternoon, you will ride the train back down for a stroll along the Bahnhofstrasse in the center of Zermatt, before returning by train to Brig for your second overnight stay.
Day 3: Viewpoints of the Aletsch Arena and departure
Dedicate the morning to a final spectacular immersion in the nature of the Aletsch Arena. Using the included mountain lifts, you can reach the area's highest viewpoints (such as the Bettmerhorn or Eggishorn viewpoints) to admire the immense and majestic curve of the glacier from above.
This will be the perfect opportunity for an easy, rejuvenating high-altitude walk, breathing the pure Alpine air just a step away from ancient ice.
Before heading back, you can take a stroll through the historic center of Brig to buy some souvenirs or admire the monumental Stockalper Castle.
