You can also travel by coach with the Palm Express from Lugano to Chiavenna, take the Spluga Pass road to Chiavenna, use the Heidibus from Maienfeld to the Heidi Village and to Balzers, and travel from Lugano to Tirano on the Bernina Express Bus.
There are two different types of Christmas markets:
- The Christkindlmarket (28 November – 23 December) is a smaller, more local market, primarily aimed at residents. It features just a few stands and offers a cozy, traditional atmosphere.
- In contrast, the main Christmas Market (28-29 November) is larger and more elaborate, with many more stands, festive decorations, and a livelier ambiance. It’s the one we usually recommend to visitors, as it provides a more impressive and immersive Christmas experience.
